The mission of the Sartell Senior Connection is to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens by planning and providing programs based on social, creative, educational and physical needs.

SSC THINGS TO DO THE NEXT WEEK

 

4/16 Wednesday

 

The VISUAL ARTS GROUP will meet every Wednesday in the District Service Center at 9:00 AM.

 

S.A.L.T. is a group meeting held at the Sartell Police Station every Third Wednesday at 9:00 AM.  S.A.L.T. (Seniors And Law enforcement Together) has been meeting for over 15 years, addressing public safety needs of seniors in the Sartell Community.  Many public safety issues that we experience are different than those of younger persons within the community.  Law enforcement in Sartell realized those differences and works diligently to have better understanding and working relationship with seniors.

 

Now a group is playing modern American Mahjong from 9:00 AM until Noon and they are looking for more players who know the game.

 

The gymnasium will now be open Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays for seniors for exercise and/or Badminton at 2:45 PM - 4:00 PM.

 

RECYCLED CREATIONS will be held on third Wednesdays, however please contact Judy Morgan for further details 249-8352.

 

4/17 Thursday

 

At 9:00 AM for Coffee & Conversation at County Manor Apartment Garden Cove dinning room Jeanne Borgstrom of the detailing divas will speak on just reorganizing your home or to downsizing.  Learn how to let go of the paralysis that attachment to possessions can bring.   

 

If you plan to go to Jackpot Junction from County Manor Apartments on a motor coach you must  RSVP prior to tomorrow to Gail at 253-8450.

 

4/18 Friday

 

Easter Break SSC Closed          Happy Easter

 

4/21 Monday

 

The COMMUNITY SHARING LIBRARY will be open daily from 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM. The library features more than 1,000 books and is operated on an “Honor System.

 

The gymnasium will now be open Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays for seniors for exercise and/or Badminton from 2:45 PM - 4:00 PM.

 

Walking after 4:00 PM in middle school halls resumes while school is in session. Walkers need to get a badge for $2 from Community Education office.

 

4/22 Tuesday

 

At Country Manor Apartments Lunch & Farkle will be held. Please make a reservation by calling 258-8974 and prior to dining the fee is $5.00.

 

Open Swimming will be ever Tuesday mornings 10 - 11 AM for persons 55+ AmericInn in Sartell.   Hot tub is available.  Passes can be purchased at Sartell-St. Stephen Community Ed office - $7.00. 

 

At Sartell Senior Connection the 500 Club will begin at 1:00 PM in room 303.  If you're a 500 card player or want to learn to play 500 stop on by.

 

The Sing-A-Long hosted by Jim & Shirley Wasdyke will be held at The Legends at Heritage Place at 6:00 PM.

 

 

4/23 Wednesday

4/24 Thursday

 

At 9:00 AM for Coffee & Conversation at County Manor Apartment Garden Cove dinning room Mary Bauer, Community Development specialist, Central MN Council on Aging andParichay Rudina, Community Coordinator at Stratis Health will discuss Medications.

 

POKER will be played this Thursday at 1:00 - 3:30 PM.    The group plays informal and fun games with several crazy, wild card games.  It's more of a social gathering and all are welcome.  Finally if you are not sure of the ranking of the cards you have others will help you since 'the cards read'.

 

The Travel Talkin' Guys, Jim Grabinski & Michael Smith at 6:30 PM will take you on an Ultimate Africa Adventure that includes South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswanna, and Namibia.  Experience Safaris' seeing a variety of animals, different trees, and vegetation.  It ends up at Victoria Falls and spending time in the beautiful city of Capetown, South Africa.
